Challenging Maritime Project on LNG Port Terminal – Jafrabad

Mantovani, as leader of a JV with an Indian primary company, awarded the Contract of more than 115 Mio € for Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning of the Marine Works – Breakwater on the New Swan LNG Port Terminal, in Jafrabad (India).

The Project comprises of development of India's first LNG Port facilities utilizing FSRU for LNG receipt, storage, regasification and send-out, with a regasification capacity of 5 MMTPA of LNG, off the Jafrabad coast in Amreli district in Gujarat

As a part of the development, marine facilities are required, which consist of marine export terminals with a number of berths and associated facilities, a dredged approach channel, vessel maneuvering areas, shore protection and breakwater.

The scope of awarded works includes the following key elements:

  • Survey Works
  • Design and Engineering
  • Breakwater (2200m length)
  • Low Crest Groyne (225m length)
  • Inner and Outer Harbour Shore Protection

The Project site is located near the village of Bhankodar, in Amreli District of Gujarat State at the mouth of the Gulf of Khambhat. It lies between Pipavav Port to the east and Jafrabad Port to the west which is 30 km from Rajula Taluka place.
